Continue reading →: Croatian Constitutional Court Abolishes Health (Sex) Education Curriculum
As I have written in my previous posts (see links at end of this article) the sex education curriculum imposed in Croatia early this year saw a nation bitterly divided on issues covered in the curriculum; it saw the Croatian TV journalist Karolina Vidovic Kristo lose her TV show “Picture…

Continue reading →: Croatia: Glorification of Communist Crimes as anti-Fascist Achievement
Even if, after thoroughly studying the victims of the Holocaust (some 11 million, 6 million of which were Jews) and the victims of WWII and post-WWII communist crimes (some 100 million), one concludes that the Nazis and their collaborators were worse criminals than the Communists, that still does not justify…

Continue reading →: Croatian Economy: The Gangrene Must Out
“The beginning of 2013 was marked by stagnating movements in economic activities. Significant drop in exports came as well, coupled, though, with concurrent strengthening of domestic demand under the influence of increased government’s investment activities,” said the Croatian National Bank’s (HNB) analysis of the economic movements in Croatia on 8…

As an introduction, he put his hands together and said: I love you. He then suggested to the audience in the filled hall to close their eyes and think of someone with whom they’d like to realise a better relationship and to tell them with their inner voice: I love…

Regardless of the fact that BBC (with Tim Judah’s help?) changed the wording in the relevant part of Tim Judah’s article “Croatia: From isolation to EU Membership” there is still egg on Judah’s and BBC’s faces. You simply cannot cover-up the fact that you’ve written lies by qualifying them –…

Continue reading →: Sick and Tired of BBC Perversions
It’s a real shame that someone at BBC doesn’t think twice and actually stops someone else (or self) at BBC from publishing lies, half-truths or perversions of truth about Croatia (in the context of former Yugoslavia particularly). But then again, such material is evidently tailored to deceive and maintain afloat…
Ina Vukic: I was born in Croatia and live Australia. I have been described as a prominent figure known for my contribution to the Croatian and wider societies, particularly in the context of Croatia’s transition from communism to democracy, as well as for my many years of work as a clinical psychologist and Chief Executive Officer of government-funded services for people with disabilities, including mental health services, in Australia. In 1995, the President of the Republic of Croatia awarded me two Medals of Honor, the Homeland War Memorial Medal and the Order of the Croatian Trefoil for her special merits and her contribution to the founding of the Republic of Croatia. I have been a successful blogger since 2011 and write extensively in the English-language on issues related to Croatian current affairs and democracy, as well as the challenges Croatia faced and still faces in its transition from communism. My goal is to raise awareness of these connections and issues worldwide.
