Continue reading →: Croatia: Holocaust Memorial At Jasenovac Joined By Wreaths For Victims of Communist Crimes
Some politically inclined Jews and Serbs in Croatia and outside will understandably keep telling you that Jasenovac camp was a death camp where Croatian WWII Ustashi regime exterminated many thousands of Jews, Serbs, Roma and anti-regime Croats. That has been the official history so far, written by WWII victors…

Continue reading →: Race For UN Secretary General Drenched By Former Yugoslavia
The UN Secretary General candidature basket seems to be overflowing with candidates from most states of former Yugoslavia (that communist contraption that broke apart in 1990’s) – five (out of six), in fact: Danilo Turk, former President of Slovenia and former UN Assistant Secretary General; Igor Luksic, Montenegro’s Foreign Minister;…

Continue reading →: Australian Croat And His Brilliant Legacies Since Port Arthur Massacre
April 2016 marks the month of the 20th anniversary of Australia’s worst massacre by a single gunman (at Port Arthur, Tasmania) – and the 20th anniversary when the son of Croatian immigrants in Australia, Walter Mikac, became widely known, a household name and the national symbol of the Port…

Continue reading →: Croatia: Anti-Fascist Anti-Communist Schism To Wield Final Truth
There is a repugnant movement by a group of “cultural workers”, so-called “the Culturals 2016”, that’s placing justice for all victims at further peril, gaining some ground in Croatia around this time of commemorating the anniversaries of the WWII murders and Holocaust at Jasenovac (late-April) and of the mass…

Continue reading →: Croatia: For Business Growth To Succeed, Communist Culture Needs Eradication Urgently
A couple of days ago I was alerted to an article in one of the biggest newspapers and news portals in Croatia – “Slobodna Dalmacija” – published 27 March 2016 and dealing with the ruination by “mysterious” public administration moves of a 10 million kuna (1,300.000 euro) business set up…

Continue reading →: Easter In Croatia
For me, Easter means the time of the greatest of joys, the time of new life and new hopes, the time of (nature) awakening, possibly new decisions, positive thinking and beautiful traditions that confirm where I come from and who I am. It is like that for most people in…

Continue reading →: Croatia’s Former President Stjepan Mesic Finally Hits Thin Ice
Croatia’s former president, that politically communist leprosy, Stjepan Mesic is finally it seems getting some just deserts. Slowly but surely his public presence of political authority seems finally destined to die a death of starvation. Disappear. His communist colleagues in power had some years ago secured that he has…
Ina Vukic: I was born in Croatia and live Australia. I have been described as a prominent figure known for my contribution to the Croatian and wider societies, particularly in the context of Croatia’s transition from communism to democracy, as well as for my many years of work as a clinical psychologist and Chief Executive Officer of government-funded services for people with disabilities, including mental health services, in Australia. In 1995, the President of the Republic of Croatia awarded me two Medals of Honor, the Homeland War Memorial Medal and the Order of the Croatian Trefoil for her special merits and her contribution to the founding of the Republic of Croatia. I have been a successful blogger since 2011 and write extensively in the English-language on issues related to Croatian current affairs and democracy, as well as the challenges Croatia faced and still faces in its transition from communism. My goal is to raise awareness of these connections and issues worldwide.
