Just saw live telecast of Olympic Bronze medal Men’s Handball match Croatia Vs Hungary and the Croatian team, nicknamed “Cowboys” simply nailed the medal. Well done!
That makes the 6th Olympic glory medal for Croatia, so far.
All eyes now on the waterpolo for Gold: Croatia Vs Italy on the last afternoon of Olympic competitions. Croatia’s “Barracudas” want gold! Good luck and fare well!
Mali Cupic, our hero!
🙂
Should have gone all the way this time, but we will be back again :).
A nice idea being a hero. One that most people have fantasized about. (I have) But, what makes one a hero? What makes one stand out above and beyond others? Does joining the military automatically make you a hero? Does enduring the rigors of nursing school make you a hero? Or, perhaps simply being in the Croatian team makes you a hero. Thank you Cowboys.
Yes – hero is in the hearts!
Dear Ina, Sorry for not keeping in touch. I’m busy preparing a month long seminar for some students of the new Catholic U. I’ll be in Zagreb from Oct. 5 to Nov. 5 conducting this seminar 4 times per week 2 hrs. per day. I hope to see you in Zagreb if by any chance you plan a visit. Last week accidentally I came a cross a critique or analysis of my book, it is the best I read and probably the only one that expresses the main points I tried to make. If you’ve some time, please read it. All the best and keep the good work. The Olympic achievements of the Croatian team were really extraordinary considering the size and number of people. It is great that you are always emphasizing the good and fighting for justice. Thank you, Esther Gitman

Great news Esther – your book “When Courage Prevailed” and all your work in the field of the Holocaust is just so important and excellent. Glad to hear about seminars in Croatia and regret I won’t be there. Wish you all the best on your journey with your work and otherwise.
